The new ORJ is coming along most is in test still. It will open when ready, no date set, just soon. A few got see a preview already, but can't not log in yet.
Tell me what you wish to see in the new ORJ. "This my personal opinion about slowing down of post." agree or not I want your honest opinion. The forum communities as a whole are seeing lower participation rates due to network sites like Face book, twitter, and others. If things are slow here and nobody post. It is not necessarily good for traffic. Most people who are active on social networking sites seem to have very little time even to answer e-mails, in my personal experience. They will update twitter ten or twenty times a day and not answer an e-mail for weeks or months. My wife is my example. Also in my opinion; Why have random people following me on Twitter. Why? What has made them decide I'm that interesting? It feels like stalking. Am I just too old and out of touch for this tweet stuff? There is something that can be done to compete with these network companies. However, its an "instant gratification" world out there, and not a "teamwork" environment at all, like a community ORJ forum ORJ was built on teamwork for example AREA51 offroad course. We have technical, social, event topics. Yes they get old, mature and continue to grow each year Any thoughts or comments are welcome, never ridiculed. ORJ is for it's members, ran by it's members. Personally I don't have any accounts on any of the other "social networks" like twitter or facebook, I really don't care for them or the need to be on them 24/7. Something like a forum I can check once or twice a day and not really miss anything.

I have a life outside of the internet, so I kinda like smaller forums anyway. Easier to keep up with despite my small amount of time online and big forums always seem to be chuck full of attention whores that ruin threads constantly.
![]() I have a facebook account, but use it just like a forum. Surf it a couple times a week.

I like ORJ best for the people. To the
dismay of many of my friends I do not have a Facebook account. In fact the only other place I go on line for fun (vs. on line for work) is YouTube. I find I only have a little time to socialize online or face to face. To maximize what little social time I have I like to spend it with good people. Every one I have met through ORJ has resulted in a positive experience for me. I have browsed other club & off road Jeep sights and I have found many are full of phony people. I also like the fact that ORJ keeps it G rated and family friendly. I also like the fact ORJ is not state or region specific and that we have members all over. This should give ORJ a bigger base of Jeepers to recruit from. Roger you are not alone in the understanding of Twitter. I don’t get it. It reminds me of a Grateful Dead fan saying “who is this band and why are they following me”. Like every other car club I have been a member of, ORJ has a life of its own. Club members come and go and move in and out of a core of very active members. As Roger said it takes a lot of teamwork to keep any club or community going, I agree. Teamwork is at the heart of what Jeep fans do out on the trails. As a team I think we need to make sure to turn visiting guests into new members, turn new members into long time members, and turn long time members into very active hardcore members. Maybe some shameless self promotion will help gain membership.
